Konqueror

Konqueror is an open source web browser that forms the default web browser and file system manager for the KDE Desktop Environment. KDE is a desktop manager for UNIX workstations and is a very popular choice for Linux workstation users. The underlying rendering engine of Konqueror is called KHTML, and this is also used Apple's Safari web browser.
Where does Konqueror store its favicon cache?
The location of the favicon cache in Konqueror varies depending on your distribution but is commonly in locations such as /var/tmp/kdecache-USERNAME/favicons (where USERNAME is your currently logged-in username) or ~/.kde/share/cache/favicons (where ~ is your home directory on a UNIX machine).
This stores a complete list of the all the favicons for websites that you have visited in the past. Either open up a command prompt or use your system's file manager to navigate to that directory and you will see a complete directory listing of .png favicons which are named after the domain name. For example, the Electric Toolbox favicon would be called www.electrictoolbox.com.png.
How to I delete a cached Konqueror favicon?
To delete a favicon that has been cached in Konqueor, navigate to the favicon cache (/var/tmp/kdecache-USERNAME/favicons or ~/.kde/share/cache/favicons) and delete the file. When you revisit the website the favicon for that domain will be downloaded again. When you are testing out new favicons you will need to do this each time you make a change to it as the browser will always reuse the cached favicon. Unfortunately you may also need to log out and then back in again before Konqueror will get the modified icon. The Konqueror bookmark editor has the option to update the favicon also, but this hasn't worked for me in the past - it never actually queries the webserver for an updated icon.
