Fix for Filezilla not showing .htaccess files
Posted November 29th, 2009 in Applications
FileZilla is an S/FTP client which can be downloaded from filezilla-project.org This post shows how to solve an issue when FileZilla will not show hidden files on the server such as .htaccess files.
Force showing hidden files setting
The setting that shows or hides hidden files is labelled "Force showing hidden files" and can be found under the "Server" option from the main menu as shown in the screenshot below.

It appears to be unticked by default, at least for the version I have installed, meaning that .htaccess files and other "hidden" files won't be displayed on the server side.
I had this issue myself earlier this week and couldn't work out why I couldn't see an .htaccess file on the server even though I knew there had to be one there. After looking through the various menus I found this option; on refresh the .htaccess file was now visible.
