Change Google Analytics Profile Name
Posted May 3rd, 2010 in Miscellaneous Postings
I set up an additional Google Analytics profile this morning for my new Australian Running Calendar website (which is just really a placholding website for the moment until I start loading content) and accidentally added a trailing slash in the profile name. Asthetically I found it a little annoying, so worked out how to change the profile name and show here how to change a Google Analytics profile name.
Changing the profile name
Log into Google Analytics and view the overview page which shows all the website profiles. Use the paging functions to show the appropriate profile. The following screenshots just show the relevent prt for the particular profile.
The first screenshot shows it with the trailing slash before I changed it:

To change the profile name, mouse over the name and a little edit icon will appear:

Click the edit icon and the name becomes a text box where you can enter a new profile name:

Make the change, click "Save" and it reverts back to plain text:

Now the profile name has changed. It won't affect statistics at all.
