Installing Redmine on Debian 5
Posted November 22nd, 2010 in Miscellaneous Postings
I just installed the Redmine project management / bug tracking software on a Debian 5 server and ran into a few issues getting it installed, so this post is basically a bookmark for me to the relevent pages I used to get it installed should I need to install on another server in the future.
The official installation guide
Here's the official guide to installing Redmine. I got a bit stuck, having never installed Ruby, Rails, etc before and the instructions didn't fully work.
madpropellerhead.com's installation guide
Then I found this guide "setting up Redmin on Debian with Apache" at madpropellerhead.com which took the official installation documentation and covered how to get it working easily on Debian 5.
Pixel Cooker's Redmine Theme
And finally, I installed Pixel Cooker's Redmine Theme because it's what I'd been using on someone else's install that they'd set up and I much preferred the layout to the default theme.
