Kidzstuff Website Relaunch April 2009

I'm pleased to announce that I've finally relaunched my kidzstuff.co.nz website directory and blog for websites in New Zealand relating to children and their families.

There's still a lot of work to do as far as the content of the directory goes; there are something like 1000 directory listings that require review and update (or delete as the case may be) and it's going to take me something like six months to do this.

A little bit of history about the site: I acquired the kidzstuff.co.nz domain name back in February 2007 after it had expired. It had previously been a web directory for children's websites in New Zealand and I managed to spider the existing content and create a new database of the directory listings.

I then quickly put a directory website up, with no admin interface, intending to build the admin interface and work on the content when I had some time. Naturally that never happened so earlier this year (2 years later) I decided I'd better actually do something about it because the site does get a reasonable amount of ongoing traffic and has a lot of potential.

So on and off since February I've been putting this together and now it's finally live - yay! - and I can continue working on the content. Once I have a good handle on the listings in this site I'll set up another version targeting Australian websites.
