Remove Vodafone Live from the soft keys on a Nokia 6121Remove Vodafone Live from the soft keys on a Nokia 6121

I bought a Nokia 6121 the other day and it's a good phone, although I do sometimes find the keys a little small and cramped and accidentally hit the cancel key when I don't mean to. The interface has two "soft" keys at the bottom (I'm not sure if that's the right terminology on these phones but it's what they're called on Windows Mobile) which can be configured to just about any menu option. I was finding it annoying having Vodafone Live on the right one because if you hit back/exit too many times you'd end up in Vodafone Live often. This post looks at how to change the options.

First click the menu button. On a Nokia 6121 it's the big one on the left.

Then select Settings

Then Phone Settings

Then General

Then Personalisation

Then Standby Mode (I guess the main screen must be "standby" which is why the options are here.

Then Shortcuts

So buried very deep into the menus you are finally able to change the "left selection key" and "right selection" key. Simply move the selection to one or the other, click the big square button and you are given a list of all the applications and menus you can assign to each button. When you're done click the left OK button.

To change the icons that are on the desktop, select the "Active Standy Apps" option which is directly below the "Shortcuts" option. Configuring each icon is done in the same way.
