BSD
DragonFly BSD 1.12.2 was released. Dragonfly BSD is a fork of FreeBSD from the 4.x branch and you can buy DragonFly BSD from the Linux CD Mall.
Box.net posted about their boardgame, Googolopoly, a game based on Monopoly and where the aim is to use Google shares to buy as many properties as you can without landing in the deadpool and losing your stock.
Hardware
Shawn Powers at the Linux Journal reviewed the ASUS Eee PC after having used it for 4 months.
HTML
Smashing Design posted many examples of nice looking web forms with screenshots.
Javascript
Smashing Magazine posted 60 AJAX and Javascript solutions, including things like sliders, fancy uploaders, masked input and so on.
Linux
The Ubuntu Geek posted how to install Ubuntu to a USB stick, which means you can run and install Ubuntu from a USB stick in the future instead of from a CD as usual. This will also work for other Ubuntu derived distributions such as Kubuntu and Xubuntu.
Watching the Net posted how to reset your password on Ubuntu if you have forgotten it. This tip should work for a number of Linux distributions, not just Ubuntu.
Linux Journal posted a short piece of shell scripting code which checks to see if the script was run as root. The example exists from the script if the user it not root.
MySQL
SUN released a release candidiate of MySQL 5.1 last week but has decided to hold off on the production release until around the end of June. More information at NZ PC World and The Register.
PHP
Ludwig Pettersson posted how to create charts with PHP and the Google Charts API. The Google Chart API lets you dynamically create nice looking graphs.
Linux.com posted about andLinux, which allows you to run Linux applications on Windows (XP and Vista) without having to run Linux in a separate virtualized application, such as VMWare or similar.
Nathan Fritz has a Jabber class for PHP called XMPPHP, the successor to the older Class.Jabber.PHP project. Jabber is an open instant messaging protocol.
Michael Leigeber looked at the eAccelerator PHP Accelerator, which is a PHP caching application for storing compiled PHP script and also supports shared memory.
Safari
SoftDistrict.com reviewed Safari 3.1.1 for Windows; Safari is the default web browser on Apple OS/X and Apple have recently released a Windows version.
Solaris
BeleniX 0.7 was released. BeleniX is an openSolaris based live CD which can run directly off the CD without having to install anything to your computer. You can buy BeleniX from the Linux CD Mall.
VirtualBox
The Tux Love section of NZ PC World had a look at Virtualbox, running Windows XP and Kubuntu 8.04 in virtual machines on Kubuntu 7.10.
Windows
Windows XP Service Pack 3 is to be released to computer makers and some IT professionals next week and offer it to all users via Windows Update April 29, as reported by NZ PC World.
