Camino 1.6 was released. Camino is a Mozilla based web browser for Mac OSX.

CSS

Reinhold Weber posted 16 confessions of a CSS developer.

SixRevisions.com posted "30 exceptional CSS tecnhiques and examples" with screenshots of the example and a link through to the originting website tutorial.

Design

Smashing Magazine posted some free credit card icons for online shops.

Firefox

The How To Geek looked at how to have Firefox 3 use the Vista Glass effect so it's more like Internet Explorer and other apps. Note that Firefox 3 is still in beta and the glass effect plugin is still in alpha so it may crash your browser etc.

Hardware

The Register reviewed the ASUS Eee PC 900 Linux Edition. This is the edition with the larger 1024x600 screen.

Javascript

Michael Leigeber posted 5 Javascript best practices.

Joomla

Joomla 1.5.3 was released. Joomla is an open source content management system.

Linux

RedHat announced that the Fedora 9 release date has slipped by two weeks. This is really no surprise because Fedora releases are almost always a couple of weeks late.

Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu/Edubuntu 8.04 were released. You can buy Ubuntu and its derivitives from the Linux CD Mall. No doubt we'll see a flood of non-official derivitives in the next few weeks.

Linux.com looked at what Edubuntu can teach your kids. Edubuntu is one of the official Ubuntu editions which is aimed at schools.

MySQL

The MySQL Performance Blog posted how to estimate query completion time in MySQL.

PHP

New Earth Online looked at how to cache entire PHP pages using the PEAR Cache_Lite library.

Senthil Nathan at IBM posted how to build a customizable RSS feed agregator in PHP.

"Mop" posted a basic PHP turorial on the downthe.net forums.

phpMyAdmin 2.11.5.2 was released.

PHP Fever looked at PHP namespaces, which will be introduced in the upcoming PHP 5.3 release.

Windows

Windows XP Service Pack 3 was released to manufacture. It will be available for download through the Windows Update and the Microsoft Download Center services on April 29th. More information at The Register, PC World and NZ PC World.

Windows Vista SP1 has been released to automatic update, so it will now download to PCs that have the automatic update feature switched on. Read more at NZ PC World.

WindowsReference.com posted links to and how to add tabbed windows to your Windows Explorer like how Internet Explorer 7 does; and also how to make the Vista Windows Explorer show window titles.

Vista4Beginners.com posted how to disable UAC for specific applications.

WordPress 2.5.1 was released, with a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements, and one very important security fix.
